Casa do Francês

Traditional Pico House

Casa do Francês was Alexandra Teles and Serge Viallelle’s family home — the same couple who went on to found Espaço Talassa and make Lajes do Pico one of the better-known whale watching spots in the Azores. The house is now a rental, 50 meters from the Whalers Museum and close enough to the harbour that you can see where the boats go out.

It sleeps up to 6: a double room, a bunk room, and a mezzanine with two singles. Two bathrooms (shower and bathtub), a proper kitchen, and an open living and dining area. From the house you get a clear view of the Atlantic and Pico’s summit at 2,351 m.

Fireplace, dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, baby chair — everything you need for a week that feels like staying somewhere rather than passing through. Linen, towels, and parking included. Cleaning fee at checkout.

A few meters away, Whale’come ao Pico Hotel offers breakfast or half board for guests who want it. Bar and restaurant open daily 11:00–22:00, March to November.

Check-in 15:00, checkout 12:00.

Whale and dolphin watching, diving, hiking, lava caves, natural pools — most of it starts within walking distance. Guests joining the ecotourism or whale watching activities get priority on bookings.
