30 Years of Experience in the Azorean Sea
With over three decades at sea, our multicultural team, mostly Azorean and joined by Dutch, German, English, French, Brazilian, and Spanish colleagues, brings deep knowledge and genuine passion to every trip.
One of the World’s Top Whale Watching Spots
Lajes do Pico is recognized as one of the ten best whale watching locations in the world, and the best in the Azores. Few boats, unspoiled views, abundant wildlife, and Pico Mountain on the horizon make it a truly unique setting.
Small Boats, Low Impact
Our fleet includes three 12 passenger boats and one 24 passenger boat. We usually operate the smaller vessels for a more intimate and environmentally responsible experience, using the larger boat only when group size calls for it. All are powered by quiet, low emission 4 stroke engines, because when it comes to whale watching, size matters.
Briefing and Debriefing
Before each trip, we run a 15 to 20 minute multimedia briefing on biology, behaviour, history, and conservation. After returning, share a drink with our guides for a friendly debrief about the species you encountered.
The Queimada Lookout – Exclusive to Espaço Talassa
From our private Vigia da Queimada lookout, two professional observers coordinate up to four boats in real time, ensuring respectful approaches and minimal impact.
It is a system built on over 35 years of experience, trust, and teamwork between our lookouts and skippers.
